The Science Museum of Long Island offers more than 50 hands-on science workshops for school and community groups.   Thousands of children have experienced the fun and excitement of our classes.  SMLI’s talented staff helps science come alive for groups on field trips here at the Museum, as well as off-site all over Long Island.

Outreach for Schools
 

If you’re interested in a program but can’t bring your class to us, let one of our Scientists come to you!  Outreach programs allow schools and community groups to have the same educational experience without the bus or carpooling hassle.  Look through our topics to see which are available for Outreach.

Our programs are not just for schools.  We gladly perform informal educational programs for

After School Centers
Hospitals
Community Organizations. 
 

Community programs are modified versions of our standard workshops.  They are more suitable for diverse groups and informal settings.
