SCIENCE BIRTHDAY PARTY FAQ

What is the maximum number of children we can invite?

We can accommodate a maximum of 25 children (including the birthday child). We ask that families provide us with the anticipated headcount so our educators can properly prepare the science activity.

Does the birthday child count towards the total number of children?

Yes, your child will be included when determining the final headcount of children.

What about younger children/siblings?

Children are only counted if they are actively participating in the science activity portion of the party. Please note, for Option #1 (food included), SMLI determines how much pizza to order based on the headcount provided by the family.

Do you provide food for the adults?

We only order enough pizza for the expected number of children. Additional pies for the adults can be requested, with a $22 per pie fee.

Can I bring in additional food?

Families are allowed to bring in additional food (sandwiches/wraps, chips, veggie platters, cookies, soda (no alcohol allowed).

Can I have an outside caterer for Option #2?

We do not allow outside catering at our traditional birthday parties. Outside caterers can only be used for private event rentals, which are booked separately (contact info@smli.org to learn more).

Can we bring decorations?

Yes, families are allowed to bring in simple decorations. Please note: NO BALLOONS ALLOWED

How early can we arrive?

Families are welcome to arrive up to 30 minutes before their scheduled party, and may park in our staff lot behind the main building.
