GENERAL CAMP INFO
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE?
Activities take place in the mornings and afternoons with a lunch and recess period in between. All programming is specially curated for each group to be as engaging, stimulating, and enjoyable as possible. Each group has its own classroom, complete with storage for their belongings and their own bathroom, but activities are not confined to the indoors! We fully utilize the outdoors, as well: all 36-acres of our preserve and local Manhasset Bay are also our classrooms!
Our way of ending each week in a fun and exciting way. In lieu of the Friday afternoon activities, we'll have special guests, events, and activities! We'll also have themed "dress-up" days, a visit from the ice cream man, and stop by our gift shop.

ARRIVING AT CAMP:
Summer camp at SMLI is a drop-off program; transportation is not provided. Please use the bus entrance when entering the Science Museum property. The gate to the bus entrance will be open during pick up and drop off procedures during the following times: 9:30 am - 10:00 am and 2:45 pm - 3:15 pm. During these time periods, the visitors entrance on Rock Hollow Rd will be blocked off. When turning into the entrance from Plandome Rd, please bear to the left (A staff member will be there to direct you) and travel up the driveway. When you arrive at the building, a staff member will be there to direct your child to their group.
SMLI Summer Camp offers 5 groups, each with their own unique age-appropriate activities related to the week’s theme. Groups are determined by the grade your child has completed this school year, NOT the grade they will be entering in the fall.

Pre-K: Campers must be at least 4 years old and able to use the bathroom independently.
*Please note: If K or 1st group is full for the week you are interested in, feel free to register your child for the other; curriculums are very similar*
