About

The Science Museum of Long Island (SMLI) is thrilled to announce the annual Live at Five Outdoor Concert Series, featuring five events on 5/11, 5/25, 6/8, 7/13, 8/10 and 9/7. The Live at Five series has been a catalyst of positive change and cornerstone to SMLI’s fundraising efforts over these past two years. Re-building our membership base and reinvigorating our long-standing connections and service to our community, attracting 250-500+ attendees to each event.

The joy in the air is palpable as guests of all ages come together on the Great Lawn of the Leeds Pond Preserve to enjoy live music, tasty food and drinks, explore our walking trails, connect with nature, and engage in experiential science activities with SMLI’s friendly and energetic staff who bring science to life for hundreds of children each day. All while partaking in some good old-fashioned fun while watching the sun set over Manhasset Bay.

Last year, we proudly continued to highlight and support local artists, fellow nonprofit organizations, and added a Live at Five Market which introduced more vendors and local businesses to the fold, along with some limited edition Live at Five merchandise.

As we enter the third year of production, there is more we’d like to do and provide to enhance the experience for our guests including a talented line up of opening acts, alternative transportation options, more experiential based activities and most importantly, finding new and innovative ways to make these events more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

We need your help to optimize this already amazing community event! Please consider becoming a Live at Five Sponsor!

With success comes new financial, administrative, and professional challenges. Your continued support allows us to continue hosting these truly extraordinary community event series. SMLI is at an exciting turning point, and we hope you will join us in shaping its future!
