Family Workshops

Science for the whole family! Our weekend family workshops are a great way to get involved in your children’s science enrichment while feeling like a kid again yourself.

  • Explore Leeds Pond Preserve during our Guided Nature Walks: discover the flora and fauna while learning about invasives, edible plants, and more!

  • Take a nighttime adventure on our Owl Prowl. Learn, listen and look for the local owls that live in our woods.  End the night with a traditional campfire & s'mores!

  • Join Lynn Capuano of Terrapin Environmental Solutions for a brand-new, three-part workshop all about nature! Discover the properties of air, water, and soil as you traverse the preserve and perform hands-on experiments to explore their properties.

  • Work together as a family to rough it in the outdoors in our brand-new Wild Survivors workshop. Tie knots, build a shelter, and make a fire!

  • Demystify germs in our new Germ Science! workshop. Observe specimens under a microscope, learn how germs spread, and take home some agar plates to find where they're most common in your home! Lots of tips for parents/guardians, too.

Note: Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult (except for "Meet My Friend, Nature"). Prices vary, member discounts available.
